Privacy
Last updated: 31 August 2026. This policy explains what Soul and Wisdom collects, why, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Soul and Wisdom is a source-led reflection service for adults 18 and over. It is not therapy, diagnosis or crisis care. Soul and Wisdom is responsible for your personal information as described here.
What we collect and why
- Account details
- Email address and sign-in method (email/password, Google, or Apple) so you can create and recover an account. We record that you confirmed you are 18 or over and a terms version, for eligibility and audit.
- Journal entries and reflections
- Your journal notes and the reflection text you write are stored on your account so they persist across devices. They are private to you and are not used to assess, diagnose, or predict your health.
- Usage and quotas
- Counts such as free daily reflection attempts and membership status are stored to apply access limits and show you what is available.
- Payment information
- Website subscriptions are processed by Stripe; in-app purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not receive or store full card numbers. We retain the identifiers needed to verify your membership and entitlement.
- Local device storage
- Some preferences (such as themes) are stored in your browser or device so the app remembers them. You can clear these from your device settings.
Legal basis
Where Soul and Wisdom is subject to data-protection laws such as the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, it relies on your consent, the performance of your membership contract, and legitimate interests in operating and securing the service. You can withdraw consent for optional processing without losing access you have paid for, subject to legal requirements.
Sharing and processors
We share information only as needed to operate the service, for example with the providers that host the database and authentication, process payments (Stripe, Apple, Google), or deliver email. These processors act on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality and security obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
We may disclose information where required by law, or to protect rights, safety, or property as permitted by law.
Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and for as long afterwards as needed to meet legal, accounting, or dispute obligations. Entitlement and audit records may be retained for as long as reasonably needed for fraud prevention and accounting.
Your rights and account deletion
You may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing, subject to legal exceptions. You can manage sign-in and membership from your account page.
You can download a copy of your data and permanently delete your account yourself from the account page. Deletion removes your journal entries, saved items and sign-in, and cancels any membership billed through this website. A subscription bought through Apple or Google Play must be cancelled separately in that store. For anything else, contact privacy@soulandwisdom.app from the email on your account.
Security and transfers
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. Because Soul and Wisdom uses processors and infrastructure that may be located outside your country, your information may be transferred internationally. Where this happens, we seek to do so under appropriate safeguards.
Children
Soul and Wisdom is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information to us, please contact us so we can delete it.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy; the date above reflects the latest version. For privacy questions or rights requests, contact privacy@soulandwisdom.app. See also our Terms of Use.
If you need urgent or personal support
Soul and Wisdom cannot provide urgent help, clinical advice, or crisis support. If this feels urgent, overwhelming, or unsafe, contact local emergency services or a qualified crisis-support service.
